New faces & farewell to graduates

This semester the LaBella lab says farewell to Colin Speer! Colin spent a little over a year in the lab while obtaining his Master's in Bioinformatics. He conducted multiple computational analyses using both yeast and human genomes.

We know Colin will be a fantastic asset to whomever is fortunate enough to hire him!

Lab Members: Colin Speer, Stevie Clemens, Caroline West

We have also welcomed two new PhD students - Stevie Clemens and Caroline West. Both Stevie and Caroline will be using the y10000+ dataset to ask novel questions. Stevie is interested in the interactions between yeasts in the environment, including the human body. Caroline is bringing her expertise in structural biology and chemistry. She is interested in how modifications impact the function and structure of tRNAs and RNAs.
